Technical Services Support Assistant
Applications are invited from students interested in working as temporary part time Technical Services Support Assistant for 15 hours a week. This post is for a fixed term period to the 1st July 2012.
The Technical Service Support Assistant will carry out duties that assist the Communications and IT Manager and contribute to ensuring that Unipol's computing services run effectively. They will provide applications support to Unipol’s IT users in the use of Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
The postholder will:
Follow a scripted list of actions to
Undertake routine checks on IT equipment both at Unipol’s offices and residences, logging faults and reporting back,
Carry out initial problem diagnosis and assist with the setting up and deployment and disposal of equipment.
Set up user profiles on computers and folders for new computer users
Undertake stock checks, preparing orders and ensuring that the stock rooms are tidy.
The post requires accuracy, a methodical approach and good time organisation of own workload. Customer care experience would be an advantage as will the ability to explain the use of computer applications and equipment in a simple way.
The post holder must be IT literate and possess a good user knowledge of Microsoft Office.
The post involves some lifting of equipment.
An operable driving license would place a candidate at an advantage.
The rate of pay is £6.75 per hour.
