Update on House Hunting 2012
We are now eight weeks in to house hunting (Saturday 14th January 2012 to 12th March 2012):
Lettings statistics
- There have been 12,620 off-street bed spaces advertised to date (29th February 2012) compared to 10,841 in 2011. This is an increase of 16.4%.
- Of those advertised in 2012, 45% have been let (5703 bed spaces) compared to 42% in 2011 (4555 bed spaces) during the same period.
- There have been over 143,000 searches conducted since the start of house hunting on Saturday 14 January.
- Unipol Code properties have let faster than Non-Code properties as 86% of properties let until the end of February were covered by the Unipol Code. Both of the Universities have been actively promoting the importance of Unipol Code accreditation and the figures above prove that the message is getting across to students and Code accreditation plays a big role in their decision to rent a property.

The March edition of the Unipol tabloid is out now.
The tabloid is a hugely popular an important publication that gives students information about the housing market as well as featuring adverts from Unipol Code landlords and agents. We are expecting search activity on the website to rise following the distribution to student halls, the Royal Mail distribution to LS6 and LS4 and several promotional events across the institutions.
A wide range of properties are available from 1 bed to 15 bed properties and rooms in Large Developments.
Ready, Steady Go!
You can choose from over 13,000 bed spaces on the Unipol website, including 100 or so houses from the Unipol portfolio. Look who is sitting pretty now!
