Revised Landlord Handbook Launched
The Landlord Handbook has been updated and revised and is being launched by ANUK in July 2012.
This ANUK/ LGA Handbook replaces and updates the ANUK/LACORS Handbook and has proved popular as the basis for much professional development and training within the landlord community, with over 6,000 copies of the previous edition sold in two years.
The Handbook contains the basic level of knowledge required for a landlord. It is also a model course intended for use by Accreditation Scheme Operators and Landlord Associations who wish to provide training for their landlords. It is intended to benefit a range of landlords and letting agents. It is not designed to be specific to any locality or for landlords of particular types of properties. It allows for the diversity that exists in the Private Rented Sector (PRS). It relates equally to property standards, management and landlord and tenancy matters. The emphasis can be adjusted according to the target audience. The Handbook has been approved by the Local Government Association.
The latest edition of the Handbook published in summer 2012 has been updated and amended to include:
- Welfare reform and the Local Housing Allowance
- Changes and updates to tenancy deposit protection
- An improved section on the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- The addition of a template property inspection report
ANUK believe that they have set a standard for Landlord Development in this manual and hope that further developments are encouraged such as training courses, tests for competence, further specialised and advanced training modules and distance learning.
Copies of the Handbook can be ordered from Unipol Training
The Handbook is available to purchase at a discounted rate for member organisations of ANUK.
The Handbook can also be downloaded for free from here
